Performing Arts Centre
In addition to technical skills, entrepreneurship, leadership, and networking are essential for a
sustainable theatre arts career. This program helps you to develop your business aptitude, nurture
your artistic voice, and make crucial industry connections. Industry-leading professionals facilitate
classes in acting, movement, and voice as you expand your artistic range across different styles of
classic and contemporary performance, including live and on-camera. You also build your audition
skills, learn to work with an agent, and create your own dynamic demo reel. To prepare for a career as
an actor-entrepreneur, participation in independent “storefront” productions pushes your creative
boundaries to the front-line of theatre innovation.
ARTS AND DESIGN
“Having started the new three-year Product Design and
Development program at Centennial College, it is turning out to
be everything that I had hoped for. The classes are both
interesting and very challenging, and we are learning to think in
new ways and to approach design problems from a fresh
perspective. The program is a joint venture between Centennial’s
Schools of Art and Design and Engineering Technology and Applied
Science. Thus, the strengths of both facilities are available to students of the
program. Of particular value for me is the program’s collaborative aspect.
Rather than the generally more solitary nature of an arts program, here group
work is the norm. This is reflective of the workplace I intend to enter, where the
ability to function as part of a team is vital. Product Design and Development’s
unique blend of the technical and the artistic, plus business, is exactly what I
was looking for. Eager to start a new career in product design, I am confident
that this program will provide me with the best possible training to be
successful.”
