KELLY ZEN-YIE TSAI is an award-winning spoken word poet, actress, playwright, and filmmaker
based in Brooklyn. She has been a featured performer at over 500 venues worldwide including the
White House, Apollo Theater in Harlem, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, and three seasons of
"Russell Simmons Presents HBO Def Poetry." Her awards / residencies include New York Live Arts,
New York Foundation for the Arts, Asian Women's Giving Circle, & Lower Manhattan Cultural
Council. Her solo show, "Formosa," and ensemble spoken word play, "Say You Heard My Echo" have
been presented at HERE Arts Center, New York Live Arts, Asian Arts Initiative, Museum of Chinese
in America, Hip Hop Theater Festival, Rising Circle's PlayRISE on Theater Row and more

Carlton Turner is the Executive Director of Alternate ROOTS, a regional non-profit arts organization
based in the south. Carlton Turner is also co-founder and co-artistic director, along with his brother
Maurice Turner, of the group M.U.G.A.B.E.E. (Men Under Guidance Acting Before Early Extinction).
M.U.G.A.B.E.E. is a performing arts group that blends of jazz, hip-hop, spoken word poetry and soul
music together with multimedia storytelling.
