Helanius J. Wilk<strong>in</strong>s, a native of Lafayette, LA, is an award w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g choreographer, performance artist,<br />

and <strong>in</strong>structor based <strong>in</strong> Wash<strong>in</strong>gton, D.C. He is the founder and artistic director of EDGEWORKS<br />

Dance Theater - a Wash<strong>in</strong>gton, DC-based all male contemporary dance company of predom<strong>in</strong>ately<br />

Will K. Wilk<strong>in</strong>s is executive director of Real Art Ways, one of the country's lead<strong>in</strong>g contemporary<br />

multidiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary organizations. Mr. Wilk<strong>in</strong>s has overseen the $1.8 million development of the Real<br />

Art Ways arts center, a place for art, ideas and social <strong>in</strong>teraction. Among the highlights of Mr. Wilk<strong>in</strong>s'<br />

tenure has been a series of commissioned artists' projects, many <strong>in</strong> public sett<strong>in</strong>gs and <strong>in</strong>volv<strong>in</strong>g<br />

community participation. Under Mr. Wilk<strong>in</strong>s' direction, Real Art Ways has been a strong supporter of<br />

artists' rights and freedom of expression. It has received support from the Andy Warhol Foundation for<br />

the Visual Arts, the Ford Foundation, the Wallace Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the<br />

<strong>National</strong> Endowment for the Arts.
