NPN's 2012 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia Attendees / Page 30 of 115 Peter DiMuro is a choreographer/arts engager whose latest adventure is PDM: Public Displays of Motion. PDM brings artists, audiences and communities together in workshop and performance, deepening value for movement in everyday and extraordinary ways. Formerly director of service org Dance/MetroDC and artistic director of Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, Peter is now on faculty at Drexel University. A touring artist on the NPN (ever grateful: thank you!) and NPN board member in previous years, Peter is currently directing multiple choreographers (Hip Hop to Hula, Modern to Flamenco) in "Future Preludes," with music by Rachmaninoff, premiering at Dance Place/DC and touring other sites in 2013, and working on a multimedia play "Nijinsky's Last Dance" about the artist at the end of his life. He has been involved in arts administration since the early 1980s when he joined the staff of Harvard Summer Dance Center, Iris Fanger, director, in 1982. A choreographer for over 22 years Bill's work has been presented in Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York and in Florida at the Florida Dance Festival, Excello Dance Studio in Miami and currently has 4 works in Moving Current Dance Collective's repertory. He has been named San Francisco's Best Dance Company (SF Weekly) and named in the nation's "Top 25 to Watch" (Dance Magazine). Dorsey's work is a fusion of modern dance, storytelling and theater. Praised as "exquisite" (BalletTanz), "trailblazing" (SF Chronicle) and "epic, powerful, moving" (Miami Herald), Dorsey is celebrated as the US's first out transgender choreographer. She has written, produced and toured dozens of original performance works, ranging from one-woman literary collage-baking extravaganzas to full blown capoeira pop-operas, and is creating a new performance installation entitled The Mermaid Tear Factory. She has over 15 years experience as an arts organizer and educator, with an emphasis on international cultural exchange. She is a tenacious champion of creating and protecting the space to experiment and experience contemporary performance.
