NPN's 2012 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia Attendees / Page 6 of 115 Nina 'Lyrispect' Ball is an award-winning writer, spoken-word artist, actress, emcee, who has shared stages with such talent as Mos Def, Raheem DeVaughn, Julius Garvey The Last Poets, Jaguar Wright, Saul Williams &more. She has been recognized by organizations such as the NAACP, U.S. Coast Guard and Temple University. She is the recipient of the 2005 Sonia Sanchez Women's Studies award and is a 2011 grantee of the Mural Arts Program Porch Light Initiative with Yale University and Project H.OME. Lyrispect's work has been featured on two murals (both North &South Philly) as well as at The Trumpet Awards, the Shero Awards, The PMA, Academy of Fine Art and more!. She is also a program facilitator BLACK GIRLS ROCK! INC and has been an invited guest of the The White House's 2011. An award-winning print, web and radio journalist, Teeka has traveled extensively and covered everything from hostile environments to outdoor recreation. She and a colleague started F Magazine, an Anchorage-based monthly arts and culture magazine, in 2009, and Teeka became the sole owner and publisher in 2010. The magazine hosts numerous statewide arts competitions like an annual art and writing competition for youth, and a music video competition. Ballas grew up surrounded by jazz musicians, painters, actors, dancers and writers, and earned her first degree in music composition and voice before studying journalism. His primary responsibility is to assist in the development and implementation of all artistic, community, and education programming. This includes identifying and working with national and local artists and teaching artists on performances, residencies, and workshops. He previously was Manager of School Programs at the Citi Performing Arts Center in Boston and he holds an MFA in Theater for Young Audiences from the University of Central Florida. Circuit Network's current roster includes Culture Clash, Cyclecide Heavy Pedal Bicycle Rodeo, Felonious hip hop theater collective, John Leanos' Imperial Silence multi-media mariachi opera, James Luna, Ruben Martinez, Miya Masaoka, Navarrete x Kajiyama Dance Theater (NAKA), Kristina Wong, and Pamela Z. Circuit also serves as the fiscal sponsor and producer of the annual San Francisco Electronic Music Festival. Prior to her position with Circuit, Elisabeth was executive and administrative director of The Lab, an alternative arts space in San Francisco's Mission District, from 1996 to 2005.
