annual <strong>in</strong>come of $150,000 <strong>in</strong>to a multi-discipl<strong>in</strong>ary present<strong>in</strong>g organization with a budget of nearly<br />

half a million dollars. Andrew's first job work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the arts was at a theatre called Life on the Water.<br />

Raphael Xavier, is an award w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g artist from Wilm<strong>in</strong>gton, Delaware and alumnus of Rennie Harris<br />

Puremovement. He is a Pennsylvania Fellow of the Arts <strong>in</strong> Folk and Traditional forms and has been<br />

funded by the Independence Foundation and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Dance Advance<br />

and NEFA. A self taught Break<strong>in</strong>g practitioner s<strong>in</strong>ce 1983, Raphael cont<strong>in</strong>ues to learn and recreate new<br />

ways to expand the vocabulary of the dance and is forg<strong>in</strong>g an exceptional approach to improvisation.<br />

Brenda Dixon Gottschild deemed Xavier, "A f<strong>in</strong>e movement technician." His extensive research <strong>in</strong> Hip<br />

Hop forms and culture, specifically Break<strong>in</strong>g, has lead to the creation of Ground-Core, a Somatic<br />

dance technique that give the practitioner a better understand<strong>in</strong>g of the body with<strong>in</strong> all dance forms.<br />

Noriko Yamamoto is a Program Director for Japanese Studies, Grassroots Exchange and Education at<br />

Japan Foundation / Center for Global Partnership <strong>in</strong> New York. Born <strong>in</strong> Mie, Japan, she studied<br />

International Relations at Ritsumeikan University <strong>in</strong> Kyoto, and Sociology at the Graduate School of<br />

Hitotsubashi University <strong>in</strong> Tokyo. Her <strong>in</strong>terest is <strong>in</strong> multicultural society and education, <strong>in</strong>tegration<br />

policy of immigrants, etc. She jo<strong>in</strong>ed the Japan Foundation <strong>in</strong> 2005, where she worked for several<br />

divisions <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g CGP Tokyo, Human Resource Division and Account<strong>in</strong>g Division, and was
