Laura Faure is the director of the Bates Dance Festival and lecturer <strong>in</strong> the arts at Bates College <strong>in</strong><br />

Lewiston, Ma<strong>in</strong>e. S<strong>in</strong>ce tak<strong>in</strong>g this position <strong>in</strong> 1988 she had developed the Festival <strong>in</strong>to an<br />

<strong>in</strong>ternationally acclaimed contemporary dance program known for its artistic excellence, curatorial<br />

vision, and commitment to build<strong>in</strong>g community through dance. Ms. Faure is currently serv<strong>in</strong>g a<br />

three-year term as a hubsite for the <strong>National</strong> Dance Project. She is a found<strong>in</strong>g member of The Africa<br />

Contemporary Arts Consortium and has been develop<strong>in</strong>g a cross-cultural exchange program with<br />

artists from Japan, Indonesia, Africa, Cuba, Portugal and Mexico s<strong>in</strong>ce 1994.<br />

Beth Feldman Brandt is the executive director of the Stockton Rush Bartol Foundation that supports<br />

arts and cultural programs <strong>in</strong> <strong>Philadelphia</strong> with an emphasis on arts education and community-based<br />

arts programs. The Foundation also presents free professional development workshops for teach<strong>in</strong>g<br />

artists. Beth was the project director for Cultural Builds Communities for the William Penn Foundation<br />

and the arts education development project for The Pew Charitable Trusts, and was the director of an<br />

after-school visual arts programs. She is also a poet whose book with artist Claire Owen, "Sage," was<br />

the focus of a <strong>2012</strong> exhibition at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. They are currently at work on a new<br />

collaboration for an upcom<strong>in</strong>g exhibition at the Center for Art <strong>in</strong> Wood <strong>in</strong> <strong>Philadelphia</strong>.<br />
