He holds a B.A. from Swarthmore College (2000) and is a member of Spoken Hand Percussion Orchestra and musical director for the renowned Brazilian ensemble, Alo Brasil. A freelance arts educator since 2001, Alex regularly teaches and performs throughout the mid-Atlantic region and also works as a dance accompanist. In 2010, he joined the music faculty at the University of the Arts. Alex has been awarded several competitive artist grants including Arts International's Artist Exploration Fund (2004) and the Independence Foundation Fellowship in the Arts (2007). He is currently a board member for LiveConnections.org and is a lead facilitator for their music education programming. As artistic director of The Equus Projects, her choreography with and without equines includes commissioned works for The Flynn, Myrna Loy, the Saratoga Arts Festival, New York City's River-to-River Festival, Bates Dance Festival, Dancing in the Streets, The Neubeger Museum, and Dance NOW, among others. Known for the innovative choreographic structures that have emerged from their work with horses The Equus Projects recently launched OnSite NYC, movement installations created for one NYC venue every month featuring performers engaged in real time decision-making. She received her MFA in Film & Media Arts from Temple University. She is a co-director of Termite TV Collective, a group of video artists who produce experimental and activist media. Her work has been broadcast on PBS and screened at festivals and museums worldwide, including MOMA and the Flaherty Film Seminar. Anula is a Co-Founder of the performance group, ASIANS MISBEHAVIN'. She has performed at the Philadelphia and New York Fringe festivals, the Adrienne and Walnut Street theater, PSNBC performance showcase, New Edge Artist Residency at the Community Education Center & Vancouver Asian-Canadian Theatre's Asian Comedy SKETCH OFF. She is a regular participant in Asian Arts Initiative's Artist Exchange Performance Showcase. She is currently the executive director of the Community Education Center/CEC, an artists incubator and community art center in West Philadelphia. She is a founding member and 10-year veteran of the multi-disciplinary performance group, Urban Bush Women. In addition to her executive responsibilities, Terri is the driving force behind the CEC's successful New Edge Resident Artists Program. She holds a BFA in Dance from Ohio State University.
