RACHEL LASTIMOSA (Musician, Dirty Boots) musician, song writer, producer, <strong>in</strong>struments: voice,<br />

keys & bass. As a member of the R&B/rock band Dirty Boots, and former member of <strong>in</strong>die rock band<br />

Creeper Lagoon, San Diego native Rachel Lastimosa has contributed to the Bay Area music scene for<br />

the past 10 years. She plays frequently at clubs and venues around the Bay Area and has toured the<br />

U.S. She's co-produced and arranged full length albums: Long Dry Cold (2006), Creeper Lagoon; No<br />

One Really Knows (2009), Conchita Campos and Where We Go (2011), Dirty Boots. Currently, she is<br />

work<strong>in</strong>g on a collaborative album with Clockwise label mate, Professor Brian Oblivion.<br />

I am a shape shifter of textile forms creat<strong>in</strong>g works which blend multiple fiber processes and surface<br />

design techniques. My work is <strong>in</strong>formed by artistic and cultural traditions of Africa, the African<br />

Diaspora, and global textiles, is <strong>in</strong>spired by cultural contributions of African Americans, address<strong>in</strong>g<br />

themes of identity, heritage, nature, ritual, and cultural symbolism. In 2011 I was the recipient of a<br />

Leeway Foundation Transformation Award.<br />
