Prior to working with NPN as Resource Development Specialist, she taught art education in the New Orleans public school system and held adjunct teaching positions at Xavier University of Louisiana and Southern University at New Orleans. She holds a B.A. in Visual Arts from Spelman College and a M.F.A. in Painting from University of Cincinnati. Her artwork focuses on investigating the histories and present stories that define the female existence. She works in the installation format and has exhibited in Dallas, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Atlanta, Cincinnati and Lexington, KY. Azcona currently also serves on NPN's Performing Americas curators team. He holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from University of Texas and teaches and writes on Chicano/Latino music culture. NPN's 2012 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia Attendees / Page 5 of 115 MELVIGN BADIOLA got his start in theater with Bindlestiff Studio working in the tech booth for Stories High 9. Then followed Fob Show:TNT, Stories High X, PMSTA's Love At The Time of Breast Cancer, and KulArts' Lawigan. He first popped his acting cherry during The Bakla Show. He's acted in numerous productions with Bindlestiff including, The Love Edition 2: Turned On, Bakla Show 1 & 2, Good Friday, & Stories High XI & XII, also for Guerilla Rep's The Oddman Family Christwanzuhkah Spectacular at Exit Stage Left. He's also part of Bindlestiff's sketch comedy troupe, Taste Better With, which performed in this year's SF SketchFest. His last project was a short film, Viewer Discretion Advised Tape 96 with Scary Cow Productions, premiered at the Castro Theater in 2011 winning numerous awards. His immediate past position was Producing Director of Jump-Start Performance Co. in San Antonio, Texas. He was the founder and director of 24th Street Experiment Theater Company, research coordinator for Theater Communications Group, and artist-in-residence with Teatro del Sol in Lima, Peru. Over the past thirty years, Steve Bailey has created and/or directed over fifty original productions that have been presented across the U.S. and Latin America. He is an arts educator and has worked with numerous youth and adult groups in a variety of community settings.
