Thérèse Wegmann, senior operations and data specialist, has been with the National Performance
Network since its move to New Orleans in 2001. She has also worked as an arts administrator with
Young Aspirations/Young Artists (YA/YA), Junebug Productions, Dog & Pony Theatre Company, and
the Arts Council of New Orleans; and she has years of theatre management/production experience in
New Orleans, Washington, DC, and Allentown, PA. She studied drama and history at the University of
Virginia, English at Georgetown University in the master’s program, then earned a second bachelor’s
degree from Tulane University in computer information systems. During playwright Vaclav Havel’s
first two years as president of Czechoslovakia, she was an English lecturer at Charles University,
Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové. She is a proud native of New Orleans and is concerned for
Louisiana, a state which is vital to the U.S. energy pipeline and supplier of most of the country’s best
seafood, yet whose wetlands are disappearing at the rate of a football field an hour.
