In that capacity, she assists with the supervision of a $13 million grants program focused on organizations and artists in the theatre, contemporary dance, jazz and presenting fields. She joined the foundation in December of 2005. Prior to working at DDCF she was the program assistant at Fractured Atlas, an arts organization that provides services, resources, and support to independent artists and arts organizations to help them better focus on their creative responsibilities. She has also worked in advertising, writing and editing for dance and theatre magazines. She holds a B.F.A. from New York University. She is currently working on her M.P.A at Baruch College. After a short stint behind the scenes in television he moved to San Francisco to pursue theater work with Josh Kornbluth, Word for Word Performing Arts and the Z Space Studio. He has extensive design experience, apprenticing video designer David Szlasa and lighting designer Allen Wilner, while also accumulating his own design credits for work with Golden Thread Productions, Crowded Fire Theater, Amara Tabor-Smith/Deep Waters Dance, and Adia Tamar-Whitaker/Ase Dance among many others. Packard is a 2-time recipient of the Lighting Artist in Dance Award. He has served as the Production Manager and Technical Director for CounterPULSE. Their work focuses on the integration of live performance and video technology. Recipients of a 2008 Guggenheim Fellowship Award, they have also received 3 NPN Creation Fund Awards, NEA Grants for the past 6 consecutive years, 2 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships, 2 New England Foundation for the Arts Expeditions Touring Grants,and commissions from DTW (now NYLA), Danspace Project, 92nd St Y New Works in Dance Fund, DNA, and Portland Ovations.They have toured throughout USA, Europe and Asia, and with NPN's Performing Americas Program throughout Central America. Their newest work, VOYEUR,is designed to be performed in gallery spaces as well as theaters and includes a video installation component.
