She learned the process of silk-screen in the summer of 2002 at Providence's AS220 and started making posters. Friedman moved to Argentina for 2 and a half years to focus on art. Upon returning to the United States in 2007 and she moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to pursue her masters. There, along with a fellow Tyler alumna, founded an artist-run project space called Napoleon. In 2012, Leslie was named a Center For Emerging Visual Artists fellow in their Career Development Program. Leslie teaches printmaking and criticism seminars at Temple University, The University of the Arts, and Muhlenberg College. During his seven years at Pig Iron, the company has doubled in size, received international acclaim, and opened a new two-year training program for performers. In addition to his work with Pig Iron, John has also served on the Board of the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia and Shakespeare in Clark Park, and three panels for the Philadelphia Cultural Fund. She has created most of her work at artist residencies such as the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center, Instituto Sacatar, Bemis Center, Visual Studies Workshop, Frans Masereel Centrum, and the Alden B. Dow Center for Creativity. Colette has received awards from Fulbright, the Independence Foundation, Sovereign Foundation, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Virginia Commission for the Arts, En Foco, Photographer's Forum, Nikon and the Puffin Foundation. She has worked as a paper engineering consultant for stop animation commercials, freelances and teaches community workshops and pop-up courses internationally. COLLEEN C.
