Cassie Meador is a choreographer, performer, educator and Artistic Director of the Dance Exchange.<br />

Cassie has taught and created dances <strong>in</strong> communities throughout the U.S. and <strong>in</strong>ternationally <strong>in</strong> Japan,<br />

Canada, London, Ireland, and Guyana. Born <strong>in</strong> Charleston, SC, and raised <strong>in</strong> Augusta, GA, Cassie<br />

received her B.F.A. <strong>in</strong> dance from The Ohio State University. She jo<strong>in</strong>ed the perform<strong>in</strong>g company of<br />

the Dance Exchange <strong>in</strong> 2002 and assumed the role of Artistic Director <strong>in</strong> 2011. Her current<br />

choreographic project, How To Lose a Mounta<strong>in</strong>, will <strong>in</strong>corporate a 500-mile walk from Wash<strong>in</strong>gton,<br />

D.C. to West Virg<strong>in</strong>ia to trace the sources of the energy that fuel her home. The work will premiere <strong>in</strong><br />

the spr<strong>in</strong>g of 2013.<br />

Vicki Meek is a nationally recognized visual artist who has exhibited widely. She earned her bachelor<br />

of f<strong>in</strong>e arts from Tyler School of F<strong>in</strong>e Arts and her master of f<strong>in</strong>e arts from the University of<br />

Wiscons<strong>in</strong>, Madison. Ms. Meek did post-graduate work <strong>in</strong> Art History at Queens College <strong>in</strong> New York.<br />

In addition to produc<strong>in</strong>g art, Vicki Meek has a long history as a curator and is an adjunct curator for the<br />

African American Museum <strong>in</strong> Dallas. Meek has over 35 years experience <strong>in</strong> arts adm<strong>in</strong>istration and has<br />

held various teach<strong>in</strong>g positions at Brookhaven College, Kentucky State University and <strong>Philadelphia</strong>
