Lela Aisha Jones is a native of Tallahassee, Florida and is at home when creat<strong>in</strong>g. While <strong>in</strong> movement<br />

she found her entry po<strong>in</strong>t as an artist, she cannot be def<strong>in</strong>ed by one discipl<strong>in</strong>e or practice; her<br />

experiences have lead to a more nomadic existence. She is the founder of FlyGround - her creative<br />

home, co-founder of The Requisite Movers, and the development coord<strong>in</strong>ator for, as a well as a<br />

member of, Mascher Space Co-op. Lela walks with her transitioned, as well as liv<strong>in</strong>g, family; she is<br />

humbled and so thankful for all those who have nurtured her, especially her grandfather, mom, dad,<br />

and sister.<br />

RHODESSA JONES is co-artistic director of the San Francisco acclaimed performance company<br />

Cultural Odyssey. She is an actress, teacher, s<strong>in</strong>ger, and writer. Ms. Jones is also the director of the<br />

award w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g Medea Project: Theater for Incarcerated Women, which is a performance workshop that<br />

is designed to achieve personal and social transformation with <strong>in</strong>carcerated women. Rhodessa was<br />

most recently selected as an "Arts Envoy" by the U.S. Department of State to conduct an <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />

six-week residency/workshop process <strong>in</strong>side the Naturena Women's Prison <strong>in</strong> Johannesburg, South<br />

Africa. In December of 2007 Ms. Jones received a United States Artist Fellowship to support her work.<br />

Rhodessa is currently direct<strong>in</strong>g a "re-mix" of Sekou Sundiata's "Bless<strong>in</strong>g the Boats."<br />
