Prior to jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>Performance</strong> Space 122 <strong>in</strong> June 2011 as creative producer, Jess Edk<strong>in</strong>s was the<br />

produc<strong>in</strong>g assistant at Whitney Live, the live performance department at the Whitney Museum of<br />

American Art, where she headed projects as varied as Christian Marclay: Festival, Elizabeth Streb's<br />

"ASCENSION" and the re-stag<strong>in</strong>g of Trisha Brown's "Walk<strong>in</strong>g on the Walls" and "Man Walk<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Down the Side of Build<strong>in</strong>g." As a freelance producer she has worked on projects at the Greene Space,<br />

Joyce Soho, and Alv<strong>in</strong> Ailey Studios. She is currently a master's candidate <strong>in</strong> perform<strong>in</strong>g arts<br />

adm<strong>in</strong>istration at New York University and holds a bachelors degree <strong>in</strong> dance and art history from<br />

Mount Holyoke College.<br />

Lisa Jo Is the Artistic Director of Gas & Electric Arts <strong>in</strong> <strong>Philadelphia</strong>. She is a theatre director &<br />

educator whose work has been <strong>in</strong>fluenced by her tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g at Jeune Lune, the Theatre du Soleil &<br />

Augusto Boal's Center for the Theatre of the Oppressed. Gas & Electric Arts explores a hybrid of<br />

techniques on stage & <strong>in</strong> communities as our means of be<strong>in</strong>g active citizens respond<strong>in</strong>g to an<br />

ever-chang<strong>in</strong>g world. Lisa Jo's work bridges the gap between ensemble physical theatre & text-based<br />

approaches, with the goal of creat<strong>in</strong>g compell<strong>in</strong>g theatrical experiences which ignite the imag<strong>in</strong>ation<br />

and <strong>in</strong>tellect. She's been tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g teachers, social-service professionals & under-served urban teens <strong>in</strong><br />

Theatre of the Oppressed for 20 years, & also leads the TO-based program called Power gRRRls.<br />
