Augusto Soledade, a native of Bahia, Brazil, is a performer, choreographer and found<strong>in</strong>g artistic<br />

director and resident choreographer for Brazz Dance Theater <strong>in</strong> Miami. In August 2011, Mr. Soledade<br />

was nom<strong>in</strong>ated for the Zelda Fichandler Fellowship, and received a Creation Fund award from<br />

<strong>National</strong> <strong>Performance</strong> Network (NPN). In 2010, Mr. Soledade was awarded for the third time the<br />

Dance Miami Choreographer's Fellowship; he received this important fellowship the second time <strong>in</strong><br />

September of 2008. Also <strong>in</strong> 2008, he was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship <strong>in</strong> Choreography.<br />

Augusto Soledade currently serves as a full time assistant professor <strong>in</strong> dance at Nova Southeastern<br />

University <strong>in</strong> Davie, FL.<br />

Janera Solomon, is an experienced producer & curator with an extensive portfolio <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g: exhibition<br />

development and programm<strong>in</strong>g for Museum of the African Diaspora; project management, August<br />

Wilson Center for African American History & Culture; and audience development/brand<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

Brooklyn Museum of Art. Her perform<strong>in</strong>g arts background <strong>in</strong>cludes st<strong>in</strong>ts with the <strong>Philadelphia</strong> Live<br />

Arts Festival, and several <strong>in</strong>dependent artist projects. An advocate for arts education, she has<br />

developed many community based arts programs and worked as a teach<strong>in</strong>g artist. She has an<br />

<strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong>g mix of artistic, educational and cultural plann<strong>in</strong>g expertise, and currently serves as the<br />

Executive Director of the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, a multi-arts presenter <strong>in</strong> Pittsburgh.<br />
