John Spokes, an experienced fundraiser/management consultant with an extensive background <strong>in</strong> the<br />

perform<strong>in</strong>g arts, jo<strong>in</strong>ed the USA team <strong>in</strong> 2011 after serv<strong>in</strong>g as the director of development at UCLA<br />

Live for 5 years. In M<strong>in</strong>neapolis, Spokes operated his own nonprofit management consult<strong>in</strong>g bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />

and served as D.O.D. at Chrysalis, A Center for Women, successfully implement<strong>in</strong>g a<br />

multimillion-dollar capital campaign. From 94-98, he was a key part of the development team at<br />

M<strong>in</strong>neapolis' Guthrie Theater, work<strong>in</strong>g as director of annual/<strong>in</strong>dividual giv<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong>terim development<br />

director, and director of community giv<strong>in</strong>g. He was also annual fund manager at Children's Theatre<br />

Company, director of development at Illusion Theatre, co-founder/manag<strong>in</strong>g director of the Eye of<br />

Storm Theatre.<br />

THADDEUS SQUIRE has been hailed as a visionary voice <strong>in</strong> the contemporary arts by David Patrick<br />

Stearns of The <strong>Philadelphia</strong> Inquirer, and was named one of <strong>Philadelphia</strong>'s top 76 Creative Connectors<br />

by Leadership <strong>Philadelphia</strong> <strong>in</strong> 2011. He has also received <strong>Philadelphia</strong> City Paper's "Big Vision Issue<br />

Choice Awards" for his work as founder of Hidden City <strong>Philadelphia</strong>. As a curator, consultant, writer,<br />

and producer, Thaddeus has worked across a wide variety of discipl<strong>in</strong>es, from history and heritage to<br />

the f<strong>in</strong>e and perform<strong>in</strong>g arts. In 2005, Thaddeus founded Peregr<strong>in</strong>e Arts, which was relaunched <strong>in</strong> 2010<br />

as <strong>Philadelphia</strong>'s first Management Services Organization, CultureWorks Greater <strong>Philadelphia</strong>,<br />

support<strong>in</strong>g the arts and heritage fields.<br />

S<strong>in</strong>ce retir<strong>in</strong>g as a dancer/choreographer, Michele Ste<strong>in</strong>wald has managed perform<strong>in</strong>g arts projects and<br />

professional development programs for On the Boards (Seattle), New England Foundation for the<br />

Arts/<strong>National</strong> Dance Project (Boston), DanceUSA (DC), and the Deborah Hay Dance Company<br />

(Aust<strong>in</strong>). She jo<strong>in</strong>ed the Walker Art Center <strong>in</strong> October 2006 to manage a third of their perform<strong>in</strong>g arts<br />

season and co-curate Momentum: New Dance Works with the Southern Theater. She is an active<br />

supporter of the local contemporary dance scene.
