She creates multidisciplinary works that explore identity, memory, perception, and language. Her work is part of many collections including The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC. Spector has received grants from the Independence Foundation Fellowship in the Arts, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Leeway Foundation. She founded SPECTOR Gallery/Projects, working outside the traditional gallery system to champion new talent and concepts. An offshoot of this is Artjaw,com, an online anthology of first person stories from the Philadelphia art community. NPN's 2012 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia Attendees / Page 93 of 115 John Spokes, an experienced fundraiser/management consultant with an extensive background in the performing arts, joined the USA team in 2011 after serving as the director of development at UCLA Live for 5 years. In Minneapolis, Spokes operated his own nonprofit management consulting business and served as D.O.D. at Chrysalis, A Center for Women, successfully implementing a multimillion-dollar capital campaign. From 94-98, he was a key part of the development team at Minneapolis' Guthrie Theater, working as director of annual/individual giving, interim development director, and director of community giving. He was also annual fund manager at Children's Theatre Company, director of development at Illusion Theatre, co-founder/managing director of the Eye of Storm Theatre. He has also received Philadelphia City Paper's "Big Vision Issue Choice Awards" for his work as founder of Hidden City Philadelphia. As a curator, consultant, writer, and producer, Thaddeus has worked across a wide variety of disciplines, from history and heritage to the fine and performing arts. In 2005, Thaddeus founded Peregrine Arts, which was relaunched in 2010 as Philadelphia's first Management Services Organization, CultureWorks Greater Philadelphia, supporting the arts and heritage fields. She joined the Walker Art Center in October 2006 to manage a third of their performing arts season and co-curate Momentum: New Dance Works with the Southern Theater. She is an active supporter of the local contemporary dance scene.
