Kim Cook jo<strong>in</strong>ed the Los Angeles/California team of the Nonprofit F<strong>in</strong>ance Fund <strong>in</strong> <strong>2012</strong> after four<br />

years of manag<strong>in</strong>g NFF’s arts and culture <strong>in</strong>itiatives for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern US. Her<br />

work at NFF has <strong>in</strong>cluded conduct<strong>in</strong>g sector research projects, lead<strong>in</strong>g tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>gs and workshops,<br />

re-grant<strong>in</strong>g, writ<strong>in</strong>g for the NFF national blog, and deliver<strong>in</strong>g custom engagements to help clients craft<br />

strategy grounded <strong>in</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ancial analysis. She came to NFF after six years of consult<strong>in</strong>g and special<br />

projects that <strong>in</strong>cluded launch<strong>in</strong>g a creative economies project <strong>in</strong> collaboration with the City of San Jose<br />

and the Silicon Valley Arts Council, culm<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> a new festival of art and technology “ZeroOne.”<br />

Kim served as director and dramaturg for a theater project with Shailja Patel lead<strong>in</strong>g to tours <strong>in</strong> Vienna<br />

and Kenya and the 2010 publication of the book, “Migritude." Kim is an avid learner with expertise<br />

areas <strong>in</strong> strategic management, market<strong>in</strong>g communications, social enterprise, and the use of electronic<br />

media/virtual space. Ms. Cook's work <strong>in</strong> the cultural sector encompasses the roles of community<br />

convener, artistic director, strategist, and producer. She has a BA <strong>in</strong> the perform<strong>in</strong>g arts from Cal State<br />

and an MA <strong>in</strong> Arts and Consciousness from JFK University. She is a 2004-05 Kennedy Center for the<br />

Perform<strong>in</strong>g Arts/DeVos Institute Fellow.<br />
