Paula Smith Arrigoni is Youth Speaks' Manag<strong>in</strong>g Director. She first began work<strong>in</strong>g with Youth Speaks<br />

while a loan officer at Nonprofit F<strong>in</strong>ance Fund. She went on to serve <strong>in</strong> the roles of lead consultant and<br />

Associate Director for NFF's Northern California Program, direct<strong>in</strong>g large <strong>in</strong>itiatives funded by The<br />

California Wellness Foundation, Bank of America and Blue Shield of California Foundation, which<br />

provided strategic f<strong>in</strong>ancial management services to a host of nonprofits and foundations. In addition to<br />

her positions with NFF, Paula has served as an <strong>in</strong>dependent consultant and tra<strong>in</strong>er, and board member<br />

to small and mid-size nonprofits.<br />

Before jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Out North, Dawnell covered arts and culture as a reporter and freelance writer for the<br />

Anchorage Daily News and the Anchorage Press. She has a master's degree <strong>in</strong> literary arts, and has<br />

collaborated on several Alaska visual and performance art pieces at the International Gallery of<br />

Contemporary Art, the MTS Gallery and the U-Haul Festival. She also helps coord<strong>in</strong>ate local art events<br />

like the Anchorage International Film Festival and the International Gallery's Object Runway art<br />

fashion show. She likes pillow fights with her boys, the open road with her friends, mounta<strong>in</strong> climbs<br />

with her dogs, and tak<strong>in</strong>g and giv<strong>in</strong>g hits with her derby sisters. She skates as WickedSpeedia for Rage<br />

City Rollergirls.
