Paula Smith Arrigoni is Youth Speaks' Managing Director. She first began working with Youth Speaks
while a loan officer at Nonprofit Finance Fund. She went on to serve in the roles of lead consultant and
Associate Director for NFF's Northern California Program, directing large initiatives funded by The
California Wellness Foundation, Bank of America and Blue Shield of California Foundation, which
provided strategic financial management services to a host of nonprofits and foundations. In addition to
her positions with NFF, Paula has served as an independent consultant and trainer, and board member
to small and mid-size nonprofits.

Before joining Out North, Dawnell covered arts and culture as a reporter and freelance writer for the
Anchorage Daily News and the Anchorage Press. She has a master's degree in literary arts, and has
collaborated on several Alaska visual and performance art pieces at the International Gallery of
Contemporary Art, the MTS Gallery and the U-Haul Festival. She also helps coordinate local art events
like the Anchorage International Film Festival and the International Gallery's Object Runway art
fashion show. She likes pillow fights with her boys, the open road with her friends, mountain climbs
with her dogs, and taking and giving hits with her derby sisters. She skates as WickedSpeedia for Rage
City Rollergirls.
