NPN's 2012 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia Attendees / Page 48 of 115 Interdisciplinary visual artist, performer and writer, Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle, was born in the West End of Louisville, KY and is a descendant of Kentifrica. She received her B.F.A from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Painting. She is also an alumna of the New York Studio AICAD Program. Hinkle has exhibited work at American University in Washington D.C., Project Row Houses in Houston, TX, The Hammer Museum, and The Barnsdall Theater and was the youngest artist to participate in the Made in LA 2012 Biennial. Hinkle is the recipient of many awards and honors including the Jacob K. Javits Full Fellowship for Graduate Study (2009), The National Scholastics Excellence in Art Silver Portfolio Award (2005), and the Emerging Leader Award (2007) from the Maryland Institute College of Art. His solo and ensemble dance-theatre works have been presented by numerous national venues and festivals including Yale University, National Asian American Theater Festival, and Philadelphia Live Arts Festival. Performer highlights include work with Bill Irwin, Pig Iron Theatre Company, and Subcircle. In 2008, Hirano co-founded the versatile Team Sunshine Performance Corporation, dedicated to creating unique, hybrid events grounded in physical theatre. In addition to performing, Hirano is a Facilitator with Artists U, a 9-month professional development program for performance artists. A former-U.S. Marine, Hirano earned his BFA in Dance at Temple University. She has taught at Scribe Video Center, Temple University and Villanova University. She is a recipient of grants and awards from Independence Media, Leeway Foundation, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and Women's Way. Maori is the founding artistic director of the BlackStar Film Festival and was named a Creative Ambassador by the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation. She currently works as the associate director at the Leeway Foundation.

Culturebot provides a platform for conversation, fostering new voices in critical writing and supporting thoughtful investigation of art and artists working across disciplines. Launched in December 2003 from Performance Space 122, it has continued independently since 2007. Andrew is currently the curator of The River To River Festival in NYC. He worked at PS122 from 200-2007 and from 2007-2009 curated the PRELUDE Festival at the Martin E. Segal Theater Center at the Graduate Center at CUNY. Andrew frequently serves as a panelist for arts organizations and funders. He also works with artists and organizations on strategic planning and project development. HEIDI S. Her favorites include Dracula, The Rock Opera, Klassvack's Dreamatorium, If the Art Fits YC 07, Maria Kizito, and HAIR. She has toured the USA, Serbia and China. She studied directing with the Lincoln Center Director's Lab and DAH Training in Serbia. She received the TCG Observership and Future Collaborations grants to travel to The Netherlands, and the International Travel Grant to continue work with DAH. Serving as the NPN rep and working alongside AD Del Hamilton, she develops residencies with world-renowned, nationally acclaimed, and local artists. "Theatre is a collaborative sport, by reaching across the table to create, we remind ourselves the peace is possible regardless of our differences."
