An important implication <strong>of</strong> this start<strong>in</strong>g po<strong>in</strong>t is that it makes the th<strong>in</strong>ker attend<br />
to the different k<strong>in</strong>ds <strong>of</strong> cognitive acts out <strong>of</strong> which one can underst<strong>and</strong> how it is possible<br />
―to generate for ourselves the representation <strong>of</strong> an object.‖ 132 In other words, <strong>in</strong> lieu <strong>of</strong><br />
attend<strong>in</strong>g to either the elements that are necessary for the possibility <strong>of</strong> the cognition <strong>of</strong><br />
an object, or <strong>of</strong> ask<strong>in</strong>g ―What jo<strong>in</strong>s the representation <strong>of</strong> an object with its object?,‖ the<br />
th<strong>in</strong>ker <strong>in</strong> transcendental philosophy st<strong>and</strong>s upon the idea <strong>of</strong> an ―orig<strong>in</strong>al represent<strong>in</strong>g.‖ 133<br />
Attend<strong>in</strong>g to the acts, however, requires that Beck identifies thus the highest pr<strong>in</strong>ciple as<br />
―represent to yourself an object orig<strong>in</strong>ally;‖ but simultaneously limits the sphere <strong>of</strong> the<br />
pr<strong>in</strong>ciple to that <strong>of</strong> ―the entire employment <strong>of</strong> the underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g.‖<br />
As already proposed <strong>in</strong> the above <strong>in</strong>terpretative thesis, the Selbstsetzungslehre is<br />
not only a reorder<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> the presentation <strong>of</strong> the foundational elements <strong>of</strong> Kant‘s critical<br />
philosophy, but it is simultaneously a set <strong>of</strong> acts by which the mak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> both the subject<br />
<strong>and</strong> the object becomes possible. Indeed, there are many more po<strong>in</strong>ts <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>tersection<br />
between both th<strong>in</strong>kers worthy <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g beyond mere historical curiosity, which<br />
unfortunately will not be addressed here.<br />
