Society for Testing and Materials, Philadelphia, 1974 were<br />

followed. The standard dilution method for determining BOD<br />

was conducted at 20 ± 1°C. Allyl thiourea (0.5 mg/l) was<br />

added to prevent nitrification. Filtered effluent from a<br />

biological sanitary waste treatment plant was used as seed.<br />
