CEO of Barbados Private Sector Tra<strong>de</strong> Team, Magnus Whitehead, who urged Barbadian firms tolook at the possibility of exporting to French territories in the Caribbean un<strong>de</strong>r the EPA [13] .Despite these <strong>de</strong>velopments, the question still remains, “How will the EPA and the relationsamong Caribbean lea<strong>de</strong>rs now affect plans <strong>for</strong> the trans<strong>for</strong>mation of CARICOM into a singleeconomy, as envisaged <strong>for</strong> 2015?”Qualitative Research MethodologyQualitative research methods primarily focus on a single phenomenon, while at the sametime, studying the context or setting of participants and validating the accuracy of its findings.To recall, qualitative research approaches utilize constructivist or advocacy or participatoryknowledge claims that possess phenomenology, groun<strong>de</strong>d theory, ethnography, case studies andnarratives [3] .The usual steps of social qualitative research were un<strong>de</strong>rtaken in this paper. First, theobjects of the study, CARICOM, CRNM AND EPA, were i<strong>de</strong>ntified and <strong>de</strong>scribed: (a)CARICOM is a regional institution that proposes economic integration, coordinates <strong>for</strong>eignpolicy and provi<strong>de</strong>s functional cooperation <strong>for</strong> its member and associate member states; (b) theCRNM, an institution of CARICOM, is responsible <strong>for</strong> <strong>de</strong>veloping and maintaining a cohesiveand effective framework <strong>for</strong> the coordination and management of the Caribbean Region’snegotiating resources and expertise and (c) the EPAs are a FTA between the EuropeanCommission of the EU and the Group of ACP countries.Second, the sampling size and procedures <strong>for</strong> interviews were <strong>de</strong>termined and the typesof respon<strong>de</strong>nts were i<strong>de</strong>ntified.
