L'exposition présente la scénographie non seulement comme un composant
technique mais comme un art de Pinquiétude.
This contribution likes to present the public of this Theatre Design International
Exhibition productions that represent significantly the work of
stage designers of our country during the last four theatre seasons.
We would like to show again how their work at the finál product performance
goes dosely and indissolubly together with the work of
directors actors, dramaturges and musicians. They are traditionally not
iriterested in an effective stage design for the scenic events, but with
their measures as artists in conveying the message, the production offers
their audience. -
In the process a remarkably grown self-consciousness of the stage and
costume designers is appearing recently, it is reflected in very originál
often unusual sceneries, that use as well visual discordances, optical
breaks collages from various space and time levels, ambivalent symbols,
and that relate not any more only integrally to the other forms of expressions
of the production, to the text, the directing, the expressions by
gesture and the music, but more polyphonically, strive for dialogues.
In this way they use methods and procedures that have an mcreasingly
formative influence on other art genres, too. Expression of a sociál and
aesthetic appreciation of problems that got more subtile, in the formsphere
of getting doubtful of the dividing lineš between the genres. The
exposition presents the stage design not only as a local determination
but as art of disquiet.

Narozen 1941 v Hlohově. Od 1980 pracuje jako šéf výpravy divadla Volksbůhne
v Berlíně. Vystavoval na PQ 1971, 1975 a 1979.

Né en 1941 a Glogau. II travaille depuis 1980 comme scénographe en
chef au Théátre Volksbuhne a Berlin. II a pris part a la PQ 1971, 1975
et 1979.
Born in 1941 in Glogau. Since 1980 he has been working as chief stage
designér at the Volksbuhne Theatre in Berlin. He participated in the PQ
in 1971, 1975 and in 1979.
