sents at the Prague Quadrennial 1987 some of the stage designs made
by Fabiá Puigserver during the last five years: 17 productions with the
stage and costumes designs made by him.
This is our first time in the Prague Quadrennial and we také part in
it with the work of a very important stage designér. That is the reason
why at the beginning of the exhibition we would like to furnish bnefly
some information concerning Puigserveťs previous works based on five
important titles dating from 1963 to 1978.
Three different factors characterize Puigserveťs work: his accuracy in
projecting and making the work; the large variety of formal and structural
concepts and the unusual poetical power and dramatic insight of
the spaces and costumes designed by him. He has influenced the contemporary
Catalan theatre a lot and has opened new horizons for the
Catalan stage design tradition.
Narozen 1938 v Olotu (Girona). Od 1971 je ředitelem scénografického
oddělení Divadelního ústavu v Barceloně; věnuje se výuce scénografie.
1976 spoluzaložil Teátre Lliure; zde pracuje jako scénograf a také jako
režisér. Spolupracuje s divadly ve Španělsku i v zahraničí.
Né en 1938 a Olot (Girona). II est depuis 1971 directeur de la section
scénographique de 1'lnstitut de Théátre á Barceloně oú il enseigne la
scénographie. II fut en 1976 1'un des co-fondateurs du Teátre Lliure oú
il travaille comme scénographe et souvent aussi comme metteur en
scěne. II coopěre avec différents théátres en Espagne et á 1'étranger.
Born in 1938 in Olot (Girona). Since 1971 he is chief of the Stage Design
Department of the Theatre Institute in Barcelona, where he lectures
the stage design. In 1976 co-founder of the Teátre Lliure where he has
made stage design and often also assumed the stage management. He
cooperates with various theatres in Spain and theatres abroad.
