The Line The literature on Mondrian approaches the development of the artist normally the way the artist imagined his development himself. ‘The first thing to change in my painting was the colour’, Mondrian himself remarked in 1941. But he disregards that already earlier he took severe reductive steps in his drawing, more and more accentuating relationships and rhythmic structure between vertical and horizontal lines and elements. This translated and transformed his use of colour. This exhibition will explore the importance of structure and drawing in the work of one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century. 4 September 2015 – 6 December 2015 Wed-Mon: 10 am – 7 pm Online-Tickets: www. gropiusbau.de/tickets Martin-Gropius-Bau Niederkirchnerstraße7 10963 Berlin Tel : +49 30 254 86-0 www.gropiusbau.de Metro: U & S Potsdamer Platz U2 S1 S2 S25 Clubs Puro Sky Lounge The Puro Sky Lounge combines the culture and the luxury of Berlin, reflecting pure lust for life.
