„You will have to take more trouble over the job to make anything of it. You seem to forget that I have
done it myself, and that, unless you make the Shavian future more interesting than I have made it,
you had better let it alone. What you call Efficiency is not efficiency, but Specialization gone mad, of
which there is no shadow of a suggestion in my works, and which has been done very well by H.G.
Wells in his book about the moon: the Selenites. The play is really addressed to the Shaw-Wells public;
and you will only irritate them if you misrepresent me, and try to do stupidly and carelessly what
H.G.W. has done very cleverly and vividly ... I strongly advise you to leave me out: when people go
to the theatre to hear Shaw they want the genuine article ...“
