Latvia: 31 years of restored
independence
On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Restoration
of Independence of Latvia and the 100 year anniversary
of diplomatic relations between Latvia and Austria, H.E.
Ambassador Veronika Erte invited to a concert at the Pfarrkirche
Breitensee. The Latvian musicians living in Austria,
Helēna Sorokina (mezzo-soprano) and Ilze Kroja (organist)
performed works from Pēteris Vasks, Imants Zemzaris,
Pauls Dambis, Bruno Skulte and Helēna Sorokina and won
over the audience with their great interpretations.

In the framework of the Azerbaijani Culture Days in Baden,
the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Vienna invited to a concert
series with performances by Shahriyar Imanov (Tar),
Etibar Asadli (piano), Marziyya Hüseynova (soprano) and
Orkhan Jalilov (tenor), amongst others. The event ended
with an impressive gala concert with the above mentioned
soloists together with the Wiener KammerOrchester and
conducted by Fuad Ibrahimov.
