Running boards are separated from the fenders to<br />

prevent collection of dirt and water thrown by the<br />

wheels in wet weather. They are completely rubber<br />

covered except for die-cast chromed ends.<br />

At the rear the new Fleetwoods provide built-in<br />

trunks of even greater spacious capacity than before.<br />

The lid has an improved design of supporting arm which<br />

is stronger and operates more easily.<br />

A three-pane rear window distinguishes <strong>Cadillac</strong><br />

Fleetwood at the rear.<br />

LUXURIOUS ROOMY INTERIORS<br />

For <strong>1938</strong> Fleetwood provides greatly advanced passenger<br />

comfort. Every interior dimension is greater<br />

than ever provided in a <strong>Cadillac</strong> before.<br />

High, Wide Doors for Ease of Entrance<br />

Entrance into the new Fleetwoods has been facilitated<br />

by larger doors. The rear door in particular is six<br />

and three-quarter inches wider. More important, they<br />

are higher, making it possible to walk into the car<br />

without stooping. This unusual height is made possible<br />

by lower floors and maintenance of the same over-all car<br />

height as before.<br />

Increased wheelbase has been utilized to gain three<br />
