To set the general preferences:<br />

1. From the File menu, click Preferences.<br />

The Preferences dialog box appears.<br />

2. Click the General tab.<br />

The General tab appears.<br />

The color tab allows you to specify the color of<br />

various interface elements.<br />

To set a color:<br />

element you want to change.<br />

To have ChemFinder present an alert when<br />

attempting to enter a structure with an atom in a<br />

non-standard valence state:<br />

• In the Registration section, click Check<br />

valences.<br />

To have ChemFinder confirm when you are about<br />

to modify data in the database:<br />
