The evidence establishes <strong>the</strong> existence of large peaks in <strong>the</strong> MS that have no IR signature at<br />

all. The only identified IR signature, that <strong>for</strong> CO 2, refers to <strong>the</strong> constituents of <strong>the</strong> peaks of<br />

Fig. 22. In <strong>the</strong> above figure only <strong>the</strong> IR signature of CO 2 appears because <strong>the</strong> scan was from<br />

40 a.m.u. to 500 a.m.u. and, as such, could not include <strong>the</strong> IR signatures of o<strong>the</strong>r molecules<br />

such as O 2 and CO (H 2 has no IR signature).<br />

Note also in Fig. 24 that <strong>the</strong> computer interprets <strong>the</strong> IR signature as that<br />

belonging to CO which interpretation is evidently erroneous because CO is outside<br />

of <strong>the</strong> selected range of a.m.u.<br />

All remaining small peaks of <strong>the</strong> IR scan resulted to be “unknown,” thus being<br />

possible magnecules, following computer search in <strong>the</strong> database of IR signatures<br />

of all known molecules available at <strong>the</strong> McClellan Air Force Base, as illustrated<br />

in Fig. 25.<br />

Following <strong>the</strong> removal of magnegas from <strong>the</strong> GC-MS/IRD, <strong>the</strong> background<br />

continued to show <strong>the</strong> same anomalous peaks of Fig. 21, and reached <strong>the</strong> configuration<br />

of Fig. 26 only after a weekend bakeout <strong>with</strong> an inert gas. Note that<br />

<strong>the</strong> latter background is itself anomalous because <strong>the</strong> slope should have been <strong>the</strong><br />

opposite of that shown. The background finally recovered <strong>the</strong> conventional shape<br />

only after flushing <strong>the</strong> instrument <strong>with</strong> an inert gas at high temperature.
