DIG TEAM LEADER INSTRUCTIONS
EXIT SUMMARY
The team leader will complete the Exit Summary sheet based on a debriefing with the team and
information provided through all observations, interviews, and documentation summary.
‣ Team leader should fill in the scientifically based research strategies and indicators prior to visit.
‣ Make sure that observers understand that “Overall evidence” asked for at the top of each
strategy implementation page should be an average of the evidence seen of all indicators on
that particular strategy observation page.
‣ Have each team member count up the amount of overall evidence they saw of each strategy
and place the appropriate number after the “degree of evidence” on the Exit Summary Sheet.
‣ Page 2 of the Exit Summary is a supplemental page for additional strategies (presented in
Appendix).
‣ Although items B and C on the form should be supported by the data, they provide more of a
“subjective” opinion of implementation and impressions of the school.
‣ Please provide some recommendations for areas of improvement.
