Step 10: Identify any subject area weaknesses/strengths by grade level
• Compare percent Proficient scores of ELA, Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies (ex: Is one
subject typically higher/lower than the other subject for the grade levels?)
• Look for low/high percent Proficient ‐ scores ACROSS grade levels within a particular subject.
These should be noted as a potential school wide weakness/strength in that subject.
• Look for low/high percent Proficient scores in ELA, Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies
for any grade level across 2‐3 years. These should be noted as a potential subject‐level
weakness/strength for that grade level.
Step 11: Determine major weaknesses/strengths for school
• Analyze and discuss all potential weaknesses/strengths from steps 1 through 10 and determine
2 or 3 major weaknesses/strengths.
