lion. Covering 12,820 square meters, the new research
facility will feature 39 laboratories. The building, which is
scheduled for completion in 2011, is expected to be
awarded LEED Silver certification.
Office building and hotels segment
The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, was dedicated
in early 2010. Turner was involved in constructing
this prestigious building as construction manager. The
tower is 160 stories tall, rising to a height of 818 meters.
In addition to a hotel and retail shops, the Burj Khalifa
also offers office space and luxury apartments.
Turner secured the construction management contract
to build the 21-story Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel Tower III
in the state of North Carolina valued at EUR 84 million.
With 532 rooms added to the building, the property will
be the biggest hotel in North Carolina.
Healthcare segment
Turner succeeded in acquiring numerous contracts in
the healthcare segment in the period under review. Our
subsidiary will build a medical office complex for just
over EUR 66 million in Atlanta, Georgia. The new center
will be erected on the grounds of the Center for Disease
Control and Prevention. After completion in 2011,
the complex is expected to measure almost 30,000
square meters in total. The property, named “Building
24,” is slated to achieve a LEED Gold certification from
the United States Green Building Council.
Turner is building the new hospital for University Medi-
cal Center at Princeton, New Jersey, a project worth
EUR 340 million. On completion, the hospital will offer
269 beds and replace the former university hospital.
The building with nearly 59,000 square meters of space
will feature ten surgical suites, cardiac labs and radiation
oncology facilities.
Additional healthcare facilities in the reporting year in-
cluded an approximately EUR 140 million cancer re-
search center at the University of Chicago and a new
14-story building for Yale-New Haven Hospital at Yale
University with a contract valued at around EUR 195

million. Both institutions are long-term clients of our
company.
Turner Logistics was also involved in almost all health-
care facility projects. The company, which focuses on
specialized sourcing, also secured contracts for projects
in the pharmaceuticals, justice, infrastructure,
sports and industrial segments.
Public building segment
In the public segment, Turner built the new Training and
Doctrine Command Headquarters for the US Army
Corps of Engineers in Fort Eustis, Virginia. The EUR 68
million project, which includes the construction of army
headquarters measuring 25,000 square meters, aims
to achieve LEED Silver certification.
Our subsidiary is also building two army barracks in
Camp Pendleton, California, as part of a joint venture
team. The new US Army buildings to be completed by
August 2011 will accommodate 2,800 marines. The
contract is worth a total of EUR 147 million, EUR 88
million of which is attributable to Turner.
Turner also won a contract to design and construct a
court building in Florida. The Duval County Courthouse
project is worth EUR 158 million. Furthermore, Turner
will expand two prison facilities in Georgia for a total of
EUR 37 million.
Sports facilities segment
In the sports facilities segment, Turner completed work on
the new 117,000-square-meter Yankee Stadium in Bronx,
New York, offering seating for more than 52,000 fans.
Turner is also responsible for demolishing the old Yankee
Stadium. The follow-on contract was valued at EUR 36
million.
Green building segment
In the United States, our subsidiary Turner is a green
building pioneer. In 2009, Turner marked the milestone
of its 100th building with LEED certification. Green project
sales last year accounted for 50 percent of total
contract value, up from 30 percent in 2008. Our subsidiary
