29-9.D.than by such entities as may be exempted by the General Statutes from localregulations.e. Public garagesf. Dry-cleaning establishments or laundries.g. Printing and photo finishing establishments.5. Conditions for Special Permit Usesa. No activities shall be conducted that result in direct groundwatercontamination or deleterious induced infiltration into a designated aquifer.b. The handling, use or storage of dry materials which are potentialgroundwater contaminants, including but not limited to chemical fertilizers,pesticides, or road salt and deicing materials, shall be done in a manner toprevent leachate contamination, utilizing both structural and nonstructuralmeasures. Such measures may include, but are not limited to, buildingenclosures, impervious pads and pavements, self-contained drainagesystems, detention basins, filters, separators or other devices and soundmanagement practices.c. All tanks for the storage of materials which are potential groundwatercontaminants shall be designed and constructed in accordance with thestandards of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., Canadian StandardsAssociation, National Fire Prevention Association or Section 29-337 of theGeneral Statutes.d. The handling, storage or use of liquid materials which are potentialgroundwater contaminants including but not limited to those used by drycleaningestablishments, laundries, printing and photo finishingestablishments shall be in conformance with the following conditions:(1) There shall be no discharge of liquid to the ground.(2) The liquid and the equipment using the liquid material shall be kept inan area, with no floor drains, designed and constructed to contain aspill of at least the maximum amount of liquid material on thepremises at one time. The Special Permit shall establish themaximum amount of liquid material to be stored on the premises atone time.(3) The liquid material shall be stored in clearly labeled, Department ofTransportation approved containers.(4) The waste material shall be removed from the premises every 90days or less by waste haulers licensed by the State and transported to163
