29-9.G.smoke units emitted exceed the number allowed by these Regulations. Each grading shallbe multiplied by the number of minutes during which it was observed and the productadded.2. Maximum Permitted Emission of Smoke: There shall be no measurable emission ofsmoke, gas or other atmospheric pollutant, except for residential heating purposes. Theemission of one smoke unit per hour and smoke with discernible density of No. 1 on theRingelmann Smoke chart shall be prohibited. No release of smoke or atmosphericpollutants shall exceed levels permitted by the State or Federal government.3. Maximum Permitted Emission of Dust:a. The emission of dust related to combustion for indirect heating from any sourceshall not exceed 0.30 pounds of dust per 1,000 pounds of flue gas adjusted to 50%excess air for combustion.b. There shall be no measurable emission of dust or other particulate matter notrelated to combustion for indirect heating.c. All properties shall be suitably improved and maintained with appropriatelandscaping and paving or other type of improvement so that there will be nomeasurable windblown dust or other similar types of air pollution created.4. General Control Over Smoke and Other Particulate Matter: In addition to the precedingperformance standards regulating the emission of smoke and other particulate matter,such emission shall not be permitted, regardless of quantity, if it shall be in any waydetrimental to or endanger the public health, safety, comfort or other aspects of the generalwelfare, or cause or be a potential source of damage or injury to property.H. O<strong>THE</strong>R ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS1. Odors, Gases and Fumes: No noxious, toxic, or corrosive fumes or gases shall be emitted.Offensive odors noticeable off the premises where the use is located shall not exceed thestandards established as a guide by Table III (Odor Thresholds) in Chapter 5, "Air PollutionAbatement Manual" Copyright 1951, as amended, by the Manufacturing ChemistsAssociation, Inc., Washington, D.C.2. Toxic or Noxious Matter: Toxic or noxious matter is defined as any solid, liquid or gaseousmatter, including but not limited to gases, vapors, dust, fumes and mist containingproperties which by chemical means are inherently harmful and likely to destroy life orimpair health, or likely to cause injury to the well-being of property or damage to property.No use shall be permitted which shall cause any dissemination whatsoever of toxic ornoxious matter outside the building in which the use is conducted.3. Radiation: The handling, storage or disposal of radioactive materials or waste by-products,whether or not licensed by the Atomic Energy Commission, shall be conducted only inaccordance with the standards established in Title 10, Chapter 1, Part 20, Code of Federal178
