3Configuring the SwitchConfiguring an Extended <strong>IP</strong>v6 ACLCommand Attributes• Action – An ACL can contain any combination of permit or deny rules.• Source/Destination Address Type – Specifies the source or destination <strong>IP</strong>address. Use “Any” to include all possible addresses, “Host” to specify a specifichost address in the Source <strong>IP</strong>v6 Address field, or “<strong>IP</strong>v6-prefix” to specify a rangeof addresses. (Options: Any, <strong>IP</strong>v6-prefix; Default: Any)• Source/Destination <strong>IP</strong> Address – An <strong>IP</strong>v6 address or network class. The addressmust be formatted according to RFC 2373 “<strong>IP</strong>v6 Addressing Architecture,” using 8colon-separated 16-bit hexadecimal values. One double colon may be used in theaddress to indicate the appropriate number of zeros required to fill the undefinedfields. (The switch only checks the first 64 bits of the destination address.)• Source/Destination Prefix-Length – A decimal value indicating how manycontiguous bits (from the left) of the address comprise the prefix; i.e., the networkportion of the address. (Range: 0-128 for source prefix, 0-8 for destination prefix)• DSCP – DSCP traffic class. (Range: 0-63)Web – Specify the action (i.e., Permit or Deny). Select the address type (Any or<strong>IP</strong>v6-prefix). If you select “<strong>IP</strong>v6-prefix,” enter a subnet address and prefix length. Setany other required criteria.
