Interface Commands4capabilitiesThis command advertises the port capabilities of a given interface duringautonegotiation. Use the no form with parameters to remove an advertisedcapability, or the no form without parameters to restore the default values.Syntax[no] capabilities {1000full | 100full | 100half | 10full | 10half | flowcontrol |symmetric}• 1000full - Supports 1000 Mbps full-duplex operation• 100full - Supports 100 Mbps full-duplex operation• 100half - Supports 100 Mbps half-duplex operation• 10full - Supports 10 Mbps full-duplex operation• 10half - Supports 10 Mbps half-duplex operation• flowcontrol - Supports flow control• symmetric (Gigabit only) - When specified, the port transmits and receivespause frames; when not specified, the port will auto-negotiate to determinethe sender and receiver for asymmetric pause frames. (The current switchASIC only supports symmetric pause frames.)Default Setting• 100BASE-TX: 10half, 10full, 100half, 100full• 1000BASE-T: 10half, 10full, 100half, 100full, 1000full• SFP: 1000fullCommand ModeInterface Configuration (Ethernet, Port Channel)Command UsageWhen auto-negotiation is enabled with the negotiation command, the switchwill negotiate the best settings for a link based on the capabilites command. When auto-negotiation is disabled, you must manually specify the linkattributes with the speed-duplex and flowcontrol commands.ExampleThe following example configures Ethernet port 25 capabilities to 100half, 100fulland flow control.Console(config)#interface ethernet 1/25Console(config-if)#capabilities 100halfConsole(config-if)#capabilities 100fullConsole(config-if)#capabilities flowcontrolConsole(config-if)#4-225
