VLAN Commands4vlanThis command configures a VLAN. Use the no form to restore the default settings ordelete a VLAN.Syntaxvlan vlan-id [name vlan-name] media ethernet [state {active | suspend}]no vlan vlan-id [name | state]• vlan-id - ID of configured VLAN. (Range: 1-4094, no leading zeroes)• name - Keyword to be followed by the VLAN name.- vlan-name - ASCII string from 1 to 100 characters.• media ethernet - Ethernet media type.• state - Keyword to be followed by the VLAN state.- active - VLAN is operational.- suspend - VLAN is suspended. Suspended VLANs do not pass packets.Default SettingBy default only VLAN 1 exists and is active.Command ModeVLAN Database ConfigurationCommand Usage• no vlan vlan-id deletes the VLAN.• no vlan vlan-id name removes the VLAN name.• no vlan vlan-id state returns the VLAN to the default state (i.e., active).• You can configure up to 255 VLANs on the switch.Note: The switch allows 255 user-manageable VLANs. One extra, unmanageable VLAN(VLAN ID 4093) is maintained for switch clustering.ExampleThe following example adds a VLAN, using VLAN ID 105 and name RD5.
