17a) Draw generalizations about the rhetorical organization of the texts in the corpus;b) Elaborate a schematic description of the characteristic and necessary textualelements of the genre.After developing the genre analysis of the texts in the corpus, I will investigatefield-dependent features ofthe genre, focusing on how differences in textualorganization respond to different epistemic organizations of each field. Besidesdifferences in the distribution of rhetorical moves across fields, the texts will beanalyzed for the evaluative terms of praise and blame used by reviewers to make acritique of new publications in their respective fields, i.e., the vocabulary used to referpositively or negatively to what is being evaluated (Aristotle, 1991). In the analysis offield-dependent features, I will adopt the perspective that genres act as constrainingforces over new texts in the discipline:Writers find in existing models the solution to the recurring rhetorical problemsof writing science. As these solutions become familiar, accepted, and moldedthrough repeated use, they gain institutional force.
