One can see that the results are very good. The piston follows the desired velocity with
only a small error. This applies to both the unloaded and the loaded cases.

Rheoforging of Steel
As an alternative semi-solid processing route for components, rheoforging of steel
alloys is in the focus of different research studies [45, 46]. The semi-solid rheoforming
processes include the production of the semi-solid billet starting with a liquid
state and the subsequent forming operation without prior cooling and reheating, for
example using the cooling channel process (Figure 10.22) [47]. Microstructure
