Eine zeitgeschichtliche Würdigung von Mattiesen, die
seine Doppelrolle als Komponist und parapsychologischer
Forscher würdigt, befindet sich in Vorbereitung.

Exempla Classica Occulta et Parapsychologica
Dieses Projekt betrifft die Auswahl von ca. 50 Büchern
zur Ideen-, Kultur- und Wissenschaftsgeschichte des
Okkulten und Paranormalen, die zum Grundstock für
den Plan einer Reprintserie gehören. Die Mehrzahl
dieser Titel dürften – aus heutiger Sicht – zur klassischen
Forschungsliteratur der Parapsychologie und
Grenzgebietsforschung gerechnet werden. Der zeitliche
Spannungsbogen reicht von Immanuel Kants Träume
eines Geistersehers (1766) bis zu Walter v. Lucadous
Psyche und Chaos (1997). Die Auswahl beschränkt
sich auf deutschsprachige Bücher, die entweder im
Original auf Deutsch erschienen sind oder von denen
deutsche Übersetzungen vorliegen. Thematisch fallen
die ausgewählten Titel in folgende Kategorien:
(1) Einführungen, Übersichten und Gesamtdarstellungen;
(2) Sammlungen parapsychischer Spontanberichte;
(3) Qualitative und Fallstudien; (4) experimentelle
und theoretische Studien; (5) Kritiken und
Kontroversen.

Exempla Classica Occulta et Parapsychologica
This project is aimed at a selection of about 50
books on the cultural, social and scientific history of
the occult and the paranormal which form the basis
for the idea of a reprint series on psychical research
and parapsychology. The majority of those
books belongs to the classical research literature of
parapsychology and border areas of psychology, as
judged from a modern point of view. The selection
starts with Kant’s Dreams of a Ghost Seer (1766) and
ends with v. Lucadou’s Psyche and Chaos (1997). It
only takes into account books which were either written
originally in German or which exist in German
translations. The selected titles fall into the following
categories:
(1) Introductions and general overviews; (2) collections
of spontaneous reports; (3) qualitative and field
studies; (4) experimental and theoretical studies; (5)
criticisms and controversies.
