The potential market for insulation felt industry in 2012-13 is estimated at Rs. 494 crore up from Rs.<br />

232 crore in 2007-08 (E). No inflationary increase has been assumed for the price <strong>of</strong> the material. In<br />

volume terms, the usage <strong>of</strong> insulation felt is expected to grow from 22,500 MT in 2007-08 to 48,000<br />

MT in 2012-13.<br />

Key manufacturers <strong>of</strong> insulation felts<br />

The major producers <strong>of</strong> insulation felts are Uniproducts India and Supreme Non-woven sister concern<br />

Supreme Treves Pvt. Limited. Uniproducts India has an installed capacity <strong>of</strong> 4.2 million kilograms<br />

and has annual sale <strong>of</strong> 4.1 million kilograms. The annual sales turnover from NVH products is around<br />

Rs. 42.57 crore.<br />

Automobile products account for around 50% <strong>of</strong> Supreme Non-woven production. The estimated<br />

capacity utilisation <strong>of</strong> Supreme Non-woven is around 60%. Supreme non-woven has increased its<br />

capacity from 15,000 MT in 2005-06 to 25,000 MT in 2007-08 and is expected to increase to 40,000<br />

MT by the end <strong>of</strong> 2008-09.<br />

Uniproducts increased its capacity <strong>of</strong> NVH products from 2,800 MT to 4,200 MT in 2006-07.<br />

Imports and Exports <strong>of</strong> Insulation Felts<br />

The Indian imports and exports <strong>of</strong> insulation felts for automobile usage are negligible.<br />
