For around 50% <strong>of</strong> the applications above, Polypropylene (PP) is used exclusively (cement, etc.). For<br />

around 7.5% applications, (Polymer, lamination etc.), Poly Ethylene (PE) is used. The remaining 42%<br />

is an overlap <strong>of</strong> PP & PE where either can be used (Fertilizer, wrapping fabric, chemicals, cattle feed,<br />

food grains, sugar etc).<br />

The Indian Raffia industry has crossed the 1 million MT mark. This industry is expected to grow at a<br />

CAGR <strong>of</strong> 15%. The maximum growth potential is seen in the FIBC, woven sacks exports, leno bags<br />

& wrapping fabric. The future expected size <strong>of</strong> the industry is shown in the chart below.
