These products are exported to Australia, Austria, China, Belgium, Canada, USA and other western<br />

European countries.<br />

The <strong>technical</strong> textile elements in the gloves exported is expected to value Rs 34.5 crore. These exports<br />

are estimated to be Rs 44 crore for the year 2012-13.<br />

Raw-materials<br />

Leather gloves: The leather is checked for uniform thickness, holes and flying cuts, if any. It is then<br />

marked with the pattern and then cut with the help <strong>of</strong> scissors or clicking knife into different<br />

components. The inner lining material is cut in the dimensions <strong>of</strong> the glove. The leather lining<br />

material is stitched together. After stitching all the components suitably, the gloves are turned inside<br />

out. The gloves are then ready for packing and dispatch.<br />

Knitted gloves: The glove fabric is manufactured by knitting synthetic fibre like para-aramid (or<br />

blends <strong>of</strong> p-aramid with other fibers such as nylon and polyester) with weave properties in<br />

consonance with the desired end product characteristics. Yarn denier can vary from 0.85 to 4.2 dpf<br />

with 2.25 dpf the predominant product. The fabric is cut to desired size and so is the lining material.<br />

The parts are stitched together and gloves are turned inside out.<br />

Nitrile Gloves are manufactured by coating nitrile compound on knitted gloves <strong>of</strong> synthetic fibre or<br />

cotton fibre. The nitrile coating <strong>of</strong>fers good abrasion and cut resistance
