The imports of ropes and cordages industry are small compared to the exports. The exports are
distributed amongst 80 countries lead by USA, Norway and Indonesia with 11-13% share each. China
is a major importer with around 23% of Indian cordage import; however China also receives around
8% of Indian cordage exports. These exports for the year 2012-13 are estimated to be Rs 402.3 crore.
