Ginni Filaments Ltd. manufactures wipes made <strong>of</strong> spunlace non-woven fabric. The company started<br />

production in 2006-07. Anjani Nonwovens, a part <strong>of</strong> Anjani Udyog Pvt. Ltd. is also reported to enter<br />

into the manufacturing <strong>of</strong> spunlace nonwoven fabric. The company is reported to invest Rs. 120 crore<br />

to set up a spunlace plant at the Mundra Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Gujarat. The 7000<br />

MT/annum capacity plant will produce cotton pads and wipes.<br />

Birla Cellulose, the fibre division <strong>of</strong> Aditya Birla group has also entered the disposable natural wipes<br />

category. With a special focus on the institutional segment, Birla Cellulose is planning to tie up with<br />

airlines, travel agencies, pharma companies and schools to promote and build this sector. The<br />

company is currently sourcing the nonwoven fabric and marketing its disposable wipes under brands<br />

‘Kara’ (skincare), ‘Purreta’ (baby care), ‘Prim’ (homecare) and ‘Handy’ (hand santizers).<br />
