Private Sector Participation If we compute that the active participation of civil society (primarily Dominican organised business sector), participated in an active way and interacted at different levels, played an important role in the outcome to the EPA, it would be appropriate to compute that cost to the overall cost by the DR in this process. If we take as an estimate that civil society (business sector) equalled to around 50% of the manpower allocated by DR officials, under the parameters, total cost by the private sector that actively participated in the negotiations rounds (as representative of organised business institutions), amounted to US$499,000.
