The saturation line drawn on the Mollier diagram separates steam<br />

conditions that are superheated (above and to the right <strong>of</strong> the saturation<br />

line) and ‘‘wet’’ steam (below and to the left <strong>of</strong> the saturation line). The<br />

cross-hatched area on Fig. 8is the phase-transition zone (PTZ), which is the<br />

below the saturation lines and at a point where significant condensation will<br />

occur, typically at a moisture level around 1–3%. The Mollier diagram is an<br />

equilibrium or static diagram and does not take into account the actual<br />

dynamic process.<br />
